It enables WhatsApp users to exchange messages with users on different platforms such as Telegram and Signal without requiring separate apps. This development is expected to promote greater connectivity across diverse messaging platforms.

Design and Function

The new feature introduces a dedicated interface page labelled “Third-party chats,” accessible in the developer build version An icon resembling a message icon with three circles signifies the feature. Users can easily manage the feature through options to enable or disable it and choose specific apps for connectivity.

This feature adheres to the guidelines of the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and offers granular control over data sharing and communication preferences. Release Date

As of now, the release date for the new feature remains unclear, but it is expected to roll out exclusively within Europe to comply with DMA regulations. WhatsApp, prioritizing user privacy and security, is set to address concerns such as end-to-end encryption and spam prevention with this innovative third-party chats feature.
