iOS applications have two components: the application size and a separate size for documents and data. The app size is visible under the Information section on the App Store page. Documents and data size refers to the files the app accumulates during use. You can check both in your iPhone or iPad settings.

What Else Can You Do Here

This screen also shows you the app icon, version number, developer’s name, and options to offload or delete the app.

How to Offload Apps in Iphone
  • Offload: The app (App Size) will be deleted to free up space, but the app files (Documents & Data) will remain on the device. When you reinstall the app by tapping its icon on the Home Screen or App Library, it will function as if it was never deleted.
  • Delete: This removes the app along with its documents and data, freeing up all the space it occupied.

Certain apps, like Photos, may offer recommendations here. Others, such as Safari, Music, Messages, VLC, Infuse, Prime Video, and Podcasts, provide detailed information categorized by type. Some apps also allow you to manage data, like deleting site data or music files directly from this screen.

You may also see app bundles on the iPhone Storage screen, showing combined data for related apps from the same developer. For example, using both WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business may show one bundle with the Shared Size.

In rare cases, the app size might not display on this screen. If this happens, you can find this information on the App Store page for that app.
