Apple, the tech giant based in California, has released its latest developer beta update. This update brings a host of AI-powered features to iPhones, iPads, and Macs. Users running the iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS 15.1 developer beta can now enjoy enhanced functionalities such as Siri’s improved contextual awareness, the Photos app’s automatic movie creation, and advanced writing tools.

In addition, Safari has received an upgrade with the new AI-powered Summarize feature, which provides concise summaries of web pages and articles. This new feature, part of Apple Intelligence, was highlighted in the company’s release notes. Initially reported by 9to5Mac, the Summarize tool is available in Safari’s Reader mode.

Users will find a new Summarize button at the top of the page, marked by the Apple Intelligence logo. When activated, an animation scans the page content with a purple Apple Intelligence glow. In a few seconds, the summary is displayed. On iPhones, the summary appears at the top of the page, while on iPads and Macs, it shows up in a sidebar. The feature was tested on devices like the iPhone 15 Pro, M4-powered iPad Pro, and MacBook Air with the M1 chipset.

The developer beta update introduces several other notable Apple Intelligence features. Siri’s contextual awareness has been enhanced, allowing it to understand and respond to vague queries more effectively. The update also includes a redesigned user interface for Siri. The Photos app now includes a new AI feature that allows users to create movies using the Memory Movie option. This feature supports text prompts, enabling users to customize their movies. Moreover, new Writing Tools have been integrated, providing spelling and grammar checks across various first-party apps and offering text rewriting options in different tonalities.

Apple’s latest beta update marks a significant step forward in integrating AI functionalities across its ecosystem, aiming to enhance user experience and productivity. With features like the Summarize tool in Safari and Siri’s advanced capabilities, Apple continues to push the boundaries of intelligent technology.
