Apple iOS 19 and macOS 16: What Major Design Changes Are Coming?

Apple is planning to make a big change with its new version of operating system (OS), iOS 19 and macOS 16. As per the Bloomberg report, the company is going to make huge changes to the design of the software, which is expected to bring a major improvement in the user experience.

Improving the look and feel of the operating system

Apple plans to redesign the look and feel of its OS with bringing more consistency and ease to the entire interface. This change will affect the design of icons, menus, windows and system buttons. Inspired by VisionOS, which is the operating system of the Vision Pro headset, the new design will use elements such as transparency and floating interface. Also, the design of rounded app icons will be included, which is slightly different from Apple’s previous design.

This is the biggest improvement since the last major changes

Apple made major changes to the look of its operating system with iOS 7 in 2013 and macOS Big Sur in 2020. iOS 7, which was the first major change in the design of the iPhone, was designed by Jony Ive and macOS Big Sur introduced support for running iPad apps for the first time and was designed for Apple’s custom silicon. After this new change, the design of iOS 19 and macOS 16 will be the most important ever.

Apple’s Intelligence with AI

Apple introduced ‘Apple Intelligence’ with iOS 18, which included AI-powered features to work with audio, images and text. Along with this, a new version of Siri was also launched, which can automate the use of apps for users. However, not all the features were launched together, but the availability of new versions of Siri is expected in the coming years.

These design improvements from Apple are likely to bring a big change in the user experience, making the use of iOS 19 and macOS 16 more intuitive and engaging than ever.
