Sony is gearing up to release the Xperia 1 VII, the successor to the Xperia 1 VI. Leaked 5K CAD renders and a 360-degree video, shared by XpertPick and tipster OnLeaks, offer a glimpse of the upcoming flagship.

There are some expectations that Sony might announce an Xperia 1 VII release date for May or June, so there should be some verifiable/certifiable data appearing about the smartphone soon.

The Sony Xperia 1 VII features a stunning 6.5-inch OLED display with 4K resolution, a cinematic 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a dynamic 120Hz refresh rate, delivering an immersive viewing experience. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, paired with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage, ensuring top-tier performance and multitasking capability. The predecessor’s telephoto sensor was 1/3.5″, so changing it to 1/2.3″ for the 2025 model would be a considerable upgrade.
