Picun F8 Pro vs AirPods Max: TikTok’s Viral Headphones Tested

Cheap Picun F8 Pro headphones on TikTok helped me understand the real difference between originals and copies

These days if you are on TikTok, you will see someone selling something in every other video. Sometimes it is candy, sometimes it is workout powder, and sometimes it is headphones. Everything is on sale and every creator is earning commission. TikTok Shop has turned social media into a shopping mall where you get a product link with every video and if you click and buy something, both the creator and TikTok earn money.

I ignored it at first but seeing the same videos again and again made me curious

I already knew this was part of marketing. So when I first saw an influencer promoting Picun F8 Pro headphones in a video, I scrolled without thinking. They looked like AirPods Max but cost only a small amount. But when I kept seeing the same headphones and praise for them again and again in many reels, I also became curious.

Everywhere I heard that these Picun headphones are almost as good as Apple’s AirPods Max. The only difference is the brand name and five hundred dollars. Many people even said that buying knockoffs is not wrong. The one who pays more just for the brand is the real fool.

Some people even said Apple is filing a case against Picun for the design

Some people showed scientific noise-canceling tests and some compared both headphones side by side. All videos gave me the feeling that I should buy Picun F8 Pro right now. Another rumor said that Apple has filed a case against Picun and the product will be removed from the market soon. But Apple has not given any official statement. These headphones are still available on TikTok.

I also thought let’s try it. Within a few taps, I ordered Picun F8 Pro for 63.58 dollars. And to compare, I also bought AirPods Max in blue from the Apple Store for 581.94 dollars.

The real game of headphones begins when you hold them in your hands

On screen both headphones look similar, but in reality, they feel very different. AirPods Max feel premium as soon as you open the box. Picun does not come with any case, and its headband mesh is just a fake fabric that starts feeling sweaty after a while. Apple’s cushions are attached with magnets and make a satisfying sound when removed. Picun cushions need force to take out.

The design quality difference was so clear that I felt I could break Picun with just two fingers.

Sound quality is almost similar but Picun is behind in overall experience

I used both headphones for many days. There was a small but noticeable difference in sound quality. Picun had a little extra bass which reduced clarity in some tracks. In high notes like in “Welcome to the Black Parade,” Picun performed well.

But I noticed one thing. The actual level of headphones depends on how you use them. You cannot expect world-class audio while listening to Spotify on Bluetooth. AirPods Max now supports lossless audio in wired mode, but most people do not use them that way. People mostly listen to music in the gym, metro or while walking their dog. In such cases, a cheap option like Picun feels enough.

But in features and comfort, Apple is much better than Picun

In every small and big feature, AirPods Max beats Picun. Noise cancellation in Picun is basic. It cuts some sounds but the rest sound like filtered effects. Apple’s transparency mode is super clean while Picun makes the sound more irritating in that mode.

Mic quality is similar in quiet places, but in noisy background Apple is clearly better. Features like Siri support and switching between Apple devices also put AirPods Max on a higher level. Picun’s app is useless and the startup sound also feels cheap. A soft voice says “Power on” when you turn it on.

But Picun did a few smart things which I liked more than Apple

In terms of weight, Picun is more comfortable. Being 100 grams lighter makes it perfect for long use or during flights. It has a real power button so you can actually switch it off unlike AirPods Max where the device decides on its own.

Battery life is also amazing. Picun claims 60 hours of playback time and my experience also matches it. I charge it once every 10 to 12 days. AirPods Max lasts only one third of that.

Final thought Is a knockoff worth buying

So is Picun F8 Pro a replacement for AirPods Max No. But if the sound quality is good enough and the price is one third then I won’t reject Picun. Apple is better in features but not everyone can afford that price.

Bose listed its headphones there but sales numbers are still weak. AirPods Max original version is not available on TikTok Shop. Even if it is there how can you trust if it’s real

For now Picun F8 Pro has become my go-to headphone for walking the dog or doing outdoor work. They are not the best but they do the job. And I heard they might go out of stock soon but I have been hearing that for the past three weeks.
