A top OnePlus executive has confirmed that the OnePlus 13 is coming, with significant upgrades over the OnePlus 12. Louis Lee, Head of OnePlus China, shared the news on Weibo, saying the OnePlus 13 will feature the “latest Snapdragon flagship chip.”

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4: What to Expect in the OnePlus 13

Android Authority believes the chip will most likely be the rumored Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, although there’s a smaller chance it could be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is currently available.

Lee’s Weibo post also mentions that the OnePlus 13 will run ColorOS 15, which is the Android interface used by Oppo and OnePlus phones in China. For the rest of the world, OnePlus devices use a similar interface called OxygenOS.

The post suggests that the OnePlus 13 will launch “this month,” but since it mentions ColorOS, it’s likely referring to a release in China first. This aligns with OnePlus’ usual launch pattern, as the OnePlus 12 debuted in China in December 2023, followed by a global release in January 2024.

OnePlus 13 Display Rumors

Lee’s announcement comes after months of rumors about the OnePlus 13, including new details about the phone’s display.

According to the leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the OnePlus 13 will feature an LTPO OLED display with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display’s brightness is said to be significantly improved, and it will include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

Digital Chat Station also mentioned that OnePlus may have redesigned the screen’s internal components, though it’s unclear how this will affect performance.

This leak adds to an earlier statement from Lee, confirming that the OnePlus 13 will use a BOE X2 micro-curved display, which will have a slight curve on all sides for better comfort when holding the phone.

In our opinion, the OnePlus 12 is still one of the best OnePlus phones, and excitement for the next model is growing.

However, keep in mind that this information is based on unofficial sources and leaks, so stay tuned for the latest updates.
