Samsung entered the wearable market in 2013 with the rectangular Galaxy Gear, switching its mainstream lineup to the iconic circular design and rotating physical bezel a few years later. Today, the modern Galaxy Watch series runs on Google’s Wear OS, serving as a premium health and fitness ecosystem companion to their smartphones.
Now, Samsung is getting ready to release its new Galaxy smartwatches. A fresh report has suggested that these smartwatches might have a feature that’s currently available on Google Pixel Watches.
Some people also found out three new smartwatch codes. These codes are Fresh 9 Wise 9 and Project V2. They think these codes are for the Galaxy Watch 9, Galaxy Watch 9 Classic and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
Samsung’s release timeline for the watch is not as intact as their smartphones, so it looks like they might release some new ones soon.
Interestingly, they might release a successor to the Galaxy Watch Ultra, which came out in 2024.
Galaxy Watches Might Get Google’s “Raise to Talk” Feature
The codes also showed that Samsung’s new smartwatches might have the “Raise to Talk” feature from Google Pixel watches. This feature lets you raise your smartwatch to your face and talk to Gemini without having to press any buttons.
The codes had a “3p” tag. This might mean that other companies can use this feature too, but right now it is only available on Google’s Pixel Watch.
If Samsung adds this feature, it will be easier for people to use Gemini on their Galaxy Watches. They can just use voice commands without the ned to touch their smartwatch.
Which Smartwatch Models Will Samsung Release?
The codes mentioned three smartwatches:
- Galaxy Watch 9 (Fresh 9)
- Galaxy Watch 9 Classic (Wise 9)
- Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 (Project V2)
Samsung has released various types of smartwatches in the past. They have Classic, Pro and Ultra versions. It is hard to know which ones they will release this time.
Battery Life Is Still Important
Some people are excited about the features, but others are still talking about battery life. Many people like Samsung’s circular watch design, but the battery of them wern’t long-lasting.
Some people question whether new smartwatches are really better than the old ones or not, while others have started comparing them with different brands.
