How To Send WhatsApp Messages Without Saving Number

WhatsApp is used by billions of users worldwide for instant messaging. It is a platform that provides a seamless experience for communication. However, using WhatsApp typically requires users to save contacts to initiate chats. 

In this article, we will guide users through several methods for sending WhatsApp messages to unsaved account number.

1. Using the WhatsApp Application

This is the first method to send a message to an unsaved number. 

Step 1: Open WhatsApp and copy the mobile number you want to message.

Step 2: Tap the “New Chat” button and select your name under “WhatsApp Contacts.”

Step 3: Paste the mobile number into the text box and click “Send.”

Step 4: Tap the mobile number; if the person is on WhatsApp, you’ll see a “Chat with” option.

Step 5: Tap “Chat with” to initiate a conversation.

2. Creating a link in browser

WhatsApp has a handy feature called “wa.me” link, which allows you to send messages to any WhatsApp number without saving the contact. Here’s a simple step-by-step process to create and use this link:

Step 1: Open the browser and click on the link https://wa.me/phone-number. Also, have
Step 2: Replace ‘phone-number’ with the full phone number, including the country code, you want to message.  For example, “************”(2-digit country code+10-digit phone number), you’d change the link to – https://wa.me/************.

Step 3: Hit enter to navigate to the link. You’ll land on a WhatsApp page. Click on the ‘Continue to Chat’ button.

The chat window for that phone number will open in WhatsApp, allowing you to send a message without saving the number.

3. Clicking on the contact number in WhatsApp groups

The second method to send WhatsApp messages without saving contact numbers is through a WhatsApp group chat. If you’re in a group chat and want to send a private message to someone but don’t want to save their contact number then you should follow the below steps to send them a private message.

Step 1: Navigate to the group chat where you want to message someone. Look for any message in the group where the person’s number is visible and tap on it. 

Step 2: In a small menu that pops up, you’ll see an option that says “Message <phone number>.” Tap on it.

A new chat window with the person will open up, and you are ready to send your message directly to them, without saving their number at all.

3. Using Message Yourself Feature

WhatsApp’s “Message Yourself” feature allows users to send messages to unsaved numbers. Here’s a step-by-step guide to using this feature:

Step 1: Copy the mobile number you want to send a WhatsApp message to.

Step 2: Open WhatsApp on your device.

Step 3: Tap on the ‘New chat’ button.

Step 4: Find and tap on your name, which should have a ‘(You)’ suffix next to it.

Step 5: Paste the mobile number into the text box and send it as a message to yourself.

Step 6: Tap on the number you just sent in the chat.

Step 7: If the recipient is on WhatsApp, a “Chat with…” option will appear. Select it to open a chat window with that number.

You can now send a message to the number without the need to save it in your contacts.

4. Using the Truecaller App

A lesser known feature in Truecaller is its ability to send WhatsApp messages without the need to save the contact number. Here’s how you can use this handy feature:

Step 1: Open the Truecaller app on your Android or iOS device.

Step 2: Search for the phone number you want to send a WhatsApp message to.

Step 3: Once the search is complete, Truecaller will display the profile associated with that phone number. On the profile page, scroll until you find the WhatsApp icon or button and tap on it.

Step 5: Tapping the WhatsApp button will directly open a chat window in WhatsApp, allowing you to message the person without having to save their number.

5. Using shortcut app on iPhone

iOS users will find the Siri shortcut for messaging unsaved numbers on WhatsApp particularly useful. Here’s how you can utilize this handy shortcut:

Step 1: Open the Apple Shortcuts app on your iPhone.

Step 2: Tap on the “Add Shortcut” button to explore new shortcuts.

Step 3: Search for and install the “WhatsApp Unsaved Number” shortcut.

Step 4: Once the shortcut is installed, tap on it to initiate it.

Step 5: A pop-up will appear prompting you to “Choose recipient.”

Step 6: Enter the phone number you wish to message, along with the country code (for example, +91 for India) in the “Choose recipient” field.

Step 7: After entering the number, the WhatsApp chat window will open, allowing you to send a message to the unsaved number.

6. By using Google Assistant on Android

Android can use Google Assistant to send messages on WhatsApp without saving contact. Follow the process below: 

Step 1: Activate Google Assistant on your Android device. (You can do this by swiping diagonally from either bottom corner of the screen. If your phone uses navigation buttons, you can also activate Google Assistant by pressing and holding the home button.)

Step 2: Give a voice command to Assistant by saying, “send a WhatsApp to +(country code)(phone number).” It is important to include the country code, as Google Assistant needs it to recognize the number for WhatsApp. 

Step 4: Google Assistant will then prompt you to dictate the message you want to send. Proceed to speak out the message you wish to deliver.

After you’ve dictated your message, Google Assistant will process and send your message through WhatsApp to the specified number, all without needing to save the number in your contacts.
