Google Messages to Allow WhatsApp Video Calls Directly
Google Messages to roll out a feature enabling WhatsApp video calls directly from the app, eliminating the need to switch between apps for easy communication.

Now you can make WhatsApp video calls from the Google Messages app only, no need to open WhatsApp
Google Messages is soon going to roll out a new feature that will allow users to start WhatsApp video calls directly from the app itself. This new integration will make communication easier for users, eliminating the need to switch between different apps to make a video call.
Make video calls directly from WhatsApp

According to a report, this new feature has been discovered in an APK teardown of the latest version of Google Messages. When a user is chatting with someone who has WhatsApp installed on their phone, a new video call icon will appear in the top-right corner of the chat screen. Tapping on this icon will start a WhatsApp video call. If the recipient does not have WhatsApp installed, the call will automatically be redirected to Google Meet.
Currently only available for one-on-one chats
Right now this feature will be available only for personal chats, but in the future it can be implemented in group chats as well. Through this feature, Google is trying to adopt the popular services that people are already using, so that the user experience can be improved.
When will this feature be launched?
Google has not yet announced the official launch date of this feature, but it is expected to be rolled out in the coming weeks. With this update, Google Messages will become a more convenient and user-friendly messaging app.
