iPhone 15 Crowned Best-Selling Smartphone Of 2024: Check Out Top 10 List

iPhone 15 was the best-selling smartphone of 2024. Strengthening its domination in the smartphone market, Apple ruled the list for the highest sales with iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro Max ranked second and third, respectively.

According to research firm Canalys, the model became the highest selling smartphone in 2024, making up for almost three percent of Apple’s global sales last year. 

A separate report by another market analyst Counterpoint, the handset became the top selling smartphone globally primarily due to its sales in the US and China. The report says the sales in the US and China accounted for nearly half of the global sales for the device.

Apple dominated the best-selling top 10 smartphone list with a total of seven iPhone models. 

Meanwhile, the Galaxy A15 was the only other phone in the top five rankings, earning the fourth place, and the iPhone 16 Pro completed the top five list. 

Interestingly, no other brand apart from Apple and Samsung featured in the top 10 best-selling list.

Domination of Apple in smartphone market share in 2024

Apple occupied 18 percent of the market share  with around 225.9 million units of iPhones shipped worldwide last year. 

It was closely followed by Samsung, with 222.9 million units of its Galaxy smartphones shipped globally in 2024.

Xiaomi took the third spot in the list of top five phone makers in the world. It captured around 14 percent of the market share and shipped 168.6 million phone units globally.

TRANSSION and OPPO were placed fourth and fifth, respectively, with a sales of 106.7 million and 103.6 million smartphone units worldwide.
