Most travellers pack at least three devices: a phone, a laptop, and a pair of wireless earbuds. Add a tablet or a camera, and you are already looking at four or five charging cables.

Then you land in a different country and realise the outlet on the wall takes a completely different plug from anything you brought.

Moreover, hunting for the right adapter at an airport shop usually costs three times what it should, and even then, you get a single plug with no USB ports, which means you can only charge one thing at a time.

The BigFish Universal Travel Adapter is built around a simple idea: one device that handles every major plug type in the world, plus four USB ports so you can charge all your gadgets at once without needing a separate charging brick for each one.

This travel-friendly and smart charger is currently priced at £12.98 on Amazon as part of a limited-time deal.

What Problem Does It Actually Solve?

When people travel abroad, they usually run into one of three situations:

1. Wrong plug shape

The UK uses a three-pin plug. Europe uses two round pins. The US uses two flat pins. Australia uses angled flat pins. So, if you are moving between countries, none of these fit each other, and carrying a separate adapter for each destination is too tiring.

2. Not enough outlets

Hotel rooms are known for having two or three power points in total, often placed nowhere near the bed. So, if you have five devices to charge overnight, you are in big trouble.

3. Damage from voltage differences

Most modern phones, laptops, and cameras handle voltages between 100V and 240V automatically, so they work fine anywhere in the world.

But if you do not have any protection in place, older devices and power surges in some countries can cause real damage.

The BigFish adapter addresses all three of these problems directly.

What You Actually Get

  • Four plug types

The adapter covers UK, US, European, and Australian plugs. You switch between them using a sliding mechanism on the side. This covers the vast majority of countries most people actually visit, including the US, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.

  • Four USB ports

Two USB-A ports and two USB-C ports sit on the side of the adapter. That means while one device is plugged into the wall socket, you can simultaneously charge up to four more through the USB ports. Total USB output is 21W shared across all four ports. The adapter detects what is plugged in and distributes power accordingly.

  • Works in over 150 countries

Beyond the four main plug types, the adapter is compatible with plug types A, B, C, E, F, G, I, J, L, and N, which cover almost all the countries of the world. If you are heading somewhere off the beaten path, it is worth double-checking, but for standard holiday and business travel destinations, you are all set to go with the BigFish adapter.

  • Handles up to 2500W

That is enough for phones, tablets, cameras, laptops, and most travel-sized appliances. It runs on 100-240V input, so it automatically handles both the lower voltage in the US (120V) and the higher voltage in Europe and Asia (220-240V) without you having to do anything.

  • Dual 10A fuses built in

These built-in dual 10A fuses protect your devices from power surges, overloads, and short circuits. The adapter is certified by FCC, CE, RoHS, and UKCA, which are the official safety standards for the US, Europe, and the UK. That matters because a lot of cheap adapters on the market skip proper certification.

  • Small and portable

The adapter measures 7.25 x 5.0 x 5.37 cm and weighs 147 grams. It fits in a jacket pocket or in the top pouch of a backpack. So, it doesn’t really need so much space.

What It Does Not Do

It is good to know the limitations as well, so the USB output of 21W total is split across all four ports. If you are trying to fast-charge a modern smartphone that supports 30W or 65W charging, the USB ports will not deliver that. For fast charging your laptop specifically, you would need an adapter with a dedicated USB-C PD port rated at 65W or higher. BigFish does make a version with 65W PD fast charging if that is a priority for you.

It also does not convert voltage for high-wattage appliances like hairdryers or travel kettles. Those require a voltage converter, not just a plug adapter. Most travel hairdryers sold today are dual-voltage and have a switch on the handle, if yours does, the BigFish adapter is all you need.

But, if your hairdryer only says 120V or only says 230V, it needs a separate converter.

So, if you travel internationally more than once a year and carry more than one device, the BigFish adapter is one of those purchases that pays for itself on the first trip. It removes the need to research plug types for every new destination, reduces the problem for USB chargers in a hotel room with one outlet, and fits in a very small space.
