Xiaomi 15 Series: Snapdragon 8 Elite, 6,100mAh Battery, Several Key Specifications Confirmed

Ahead of the launch, the Chinese firm has confirmed some of the key specifications that will deck the models. Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro are set to be the world’s first handsets to be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
Ahead of its official debut, here’s everything we know about the Xiaomi 15 series including the presence of a 5X telephoto camera and 6,100mAh battery on the Xiaomi 15 Pro.
Xiaomi 15 Series: Confirmed Specifications
The company has dropped official highlights of the models on Chinese social media platform Weibo. One of the key specifications is that the Xiaomi 15 Pro will be backed by a 6,100mAh battery with an energy density of 850Wh/L-which is the company’s highest level to date. It is a 38 percent improvement over the Xiaomi 14 Pro, which features a 4,880mAh battery capacity.
The Xiaomi 15 will be equipped with a 5400mAh battery, an increase of 790mAh compared to the previous generation- an increase by 23 percent but the battery volume has hardly changed.
Additionally, Xiaomi 15 Pro will be equipped with a 2K micro-curved screen which uses customised luminous M9 material, with 1.38mm bezels and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. The light-emitting material is said to reduce overall power consumption by 10 percent.
The Pro variant has been teased with 10X lossless zoom feature courtesy of the 5X periscope camera. The camera unit on both phones is again confirmed to carry the Leica branding, according to the teasers.
Xiaomi 15 Pro will feature 50MP main camera and will have an upgrade over the 3.2x telephoto shooter on the Xiaomi 14 Pro. It looks like the main camera will retain the f/1.4 aperture, while the telephoto snapper will get a fairly wide f/2.5 aperture. The standard variant also features a 3.2x telephoto camera.
Xiaomi also introduces AISP 2.0, an AI-aided image processing algorithm that reduces the processing time by 82% as well as improves image quality.
Both the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset paired with the company’s HyperCore technology. This combination is said to deliver a 45 percent performance improvement over its predecessor while also reducing power consumption by 52 percent.
As per the official, the Xiaomi 15 series will be able to maintain a frame rate of 59.4 frames per second (fps) while maintaining a temperature of 42.1 degrees Celsius.
Apart from the Xiaomi 15 series, the company is set to unveil several other products including the Pad 7 series, Watch S4, and Band 9 Pro.
Expanding its hardware range further, Xiaomi will reveal a high-end electric scooter series, smart door locks, Wi-Fi 7 routers, and more.
