Samsung Account Warning: Do This Before 31 July 2025 or Lose Your Data Forever

Your Samsung Account Will Be Deleted If You Don’t Act Before 31 July 2025

If you have ever used a Samsung phone, tablet, TV, smartwatch, or any other device connected to a Samsung Account, you need to log in now. Samsung has introduced a new policy that will permanently delete accounts that have been inactive for 24 months or more. The deadline is 31 July 2025. If you do not log in before this date, your account and all related data will be deleted and cannot be recovered.

Why Is Samsung Deleting Inactive Accounts?

Samsung is cleaning up its cloud storage servers by removing accounts that have not been used in two years. This step is meant to protect user data and reduce unnecessary storage usage. If your account is inactive, it will be marked for deletion, and all your saved content will be removed.

Who Will Be Affected?

There are around 22 million Samsung users in the UK alone. Anyone who has used a Galaxy phone, tablet, or any Samsung device and has not logged into their Samsung Account for the past 24 months is at risk. This includes former users who may have switched brands but still have an account.

What Will Be Deleted?

Once your Samsung Account is deleted, all data connected to it will also be removed. This includes:

  • Samsung Cloud backups
  • Photos and videos saved in the cloud
  • Device settings and backups
  • Samsung Wallet card details
  • Samsung Health information
  • Downloaded apps linked to your account
  • Find My Mobile location data

There is no way to restore this data after deletion.

Shorter Deadline for Smart TVs and Wearables

Samsung has applied a stricter policy for users who own Smart TVs, Family Hub refrigerators, or Galaxy wearables like smartwatches and fitness trackers. For these devices, accounts that have been inactive for 12 months will be deleted.

This means if you used one of these devices and have not logged into your Samsung Account for a year, your personal information stored on them will be deleted as soon as the one-year mark is crossed.

How to Keep Your Samsung Account Safe

To prevent your account and data from being deleted:

  1. Log in to your Samsung Account as soon as possible.
  2. Make sure to access your account at least once every 12 to 24 months.
  3. Check if your devices are still linked to your account.
  4. If you have more than one Samsung device, log in to the account linked with each.

Regular activity on your account will prevent it from being marked inactive.

What to Do Now

If you still want access to your old backups, app history, health data, or any files saved through your Samsung Account, act now. Logging in takes just a few minutes and will protect your data.

Even if you no longer use a Samsung device, your old account may still hold important information. Do not wait until it’s too late.

Samsung is enforcing this new account policy to protect data and streamline its services. Users must log in before 31 July 2025 to avoid permanent deletion of their account and all related data. For Smart TV and wearable users, the risk is even higher due to the shorter 12-month inactivity period.

Stay safe and ensure your Samsung Account remains active by logging in today.
