For a long time, Chatgpt has been the only major player in the Gen AI language model, which has seen even Google’s Gemini and Microsoft’s Copilot flop due to one-way traffic but the introduction of DeepSeek has caused the global market to notice every new and small details that are being added to AI language models. ChatGPT was founded by Sam Altman and Elon Musk in 2015. Since its inception it has managed a different space in people’s hearts and its market share is a testimony of that. Although its pricing has been steep for a while now, the services and area of expertise are still unmatched. Qwen AI: Alibaba’s Competitive Edge in AI-Language Models

Qwen AI has emerged as the newest leader among the rat-race of many trying to become the cheapest alternative to DeepSeek. Qwen AI was founded by the Alibaba Group in 2023 as Tongyi Qianwen. Famously quoted as equivalent to buying a sandwich, it has surely come into the market with cut-throat pricing to make the market more competitive and more exciting. In January 2025, the launch of Qwen 2.5-Max marked a new era: a model pre-trained on over 20 trillion tokens and refined with cutting-edge techniques like Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) and Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF).

DeepSeek had already created problems for ChatGPT as it had provided similar services at 40 times less the price but now with new gen AI language models, it has become increasingly difficult for ChatGPT to be above the market.
